Heroes and Mentors
is s about Speaking Life into a generation of young people encouraging them to have a long term vision for their lives in order to make the choices now that lead to life, hope, and purpose. The presentations talk about making the difficult choices that are necessary to become a leader in your generation, tackling issues like bullying, substance abuse, suicide, std’s, and other issues plaguing this generation. We stress that "the choices we make dictate the life we lead." Our choices lead to habits, and habits form our character, which defines who we are. Heroes and Mentors engages there audience as they talks to them about leaving the old ways of their past behind, and helps them create a vision for their future, so that their every choice they make can be divided into two categories; their choices will bring them closer to their vision of their future, or further away. In short, we challenge them to become the voice in their generation and not the echo, and that helps them realize that they can change the world

Mentoring
The Youth Alliance is dedicated to the overall well-being of students. That is why we are in the public and private schools every week mentoring individuals and groups of students. The Youth Alliance sends mentors Into schools all around the world that listen and respond to the needs that students are facing and encourage them to overcome obstacles that keep them from achieving their dreams.
We believe that an individual can make a difference in their community and the world. As we work with individuals to help them overcome obstacles in their lives, we are seeing an improvement in their lives and also in the overall culture of the schools we are servicing.

Group Development Services
The Youth Alliance works with students and leaders in established groups to facilitate the group's development and overall growth. Within the parameters of our expertise, The Youth Alliance will train a group leader in the basics of successful group leadership. We will also attend the group in order to assess the dynamics of an individual group and recommend a course of action for the continued maturity of the group. Goals will be established and an implementation plan will be laid out as well as a system for evaluation. We realize that groups are very effective if there are properly trained leaders in place to accomplish their mission.

Internship Program
The staff of The Youth Alliance will train interns for our programs and programs that are in keeping with our mission. Contact Preston Centuolo for more information about this effective training program for helping youth.

Residential Program
The Youth Alliance has worked with over a dozen teens and young adults over the past 6 years that have needed a home and some guidance. We have placed these teens in loving homes with caring fathers and mothers that have worked with them to attain certain practical goals such as completion of high school, getting drivers' licenses, reestablishing relationships with their parents.

The Youth Alliance is working toward establishing a program where each teen that enters the program will receive needed counseling, education and mentoring. We will also work with the teen's parents or guardians in order to place them back into a better environment at the end of our nine to eighteen month program.

In order to begin this program modeled after a very successful home for teens we will need to acquire a facility as well as train additional staff.

If you know someone in need of this type of ministry or would like to help us develop this program by contributing to one of these needs please contact Dan or Marcy McAnney at 609-567-9004 or by email at danmcanney@comcast.net.

Restart
Restart is an outreach for homeless men and women on the streets of Center City Philadelphia.

In February 2002 I began bringing food down to the men and women in Center City Philadelphia. I soon learned that these men and women were homeless not helpless. Through each personal story, I grew to understand that these were not bums, but children of God who were out of place. It did not take long to realize that the common factor for homelessness was not drugs, alcohol, and mental illness, but lack of a supportive family. I found that there were capable men who were wanted to work, but were unable to get jobs because they had no identification. It was a vicious cycle; they could not get ID because they didn't have any ID.

Three years later, we now serve an outdoor meal every Monday afternoon at 4PM in front of downtown's Free Library. We serve food and Christian love to 100-250 homeless and working poor, and provide the means to get proper state identification. While one food line forms for a buffet line of food, another line forms where men and women wait for help to get birth certificates and state ID's. From all over the city, the homeless come for the state ID checks (written to state agencies) that will allow them to get jobs, into rehab, and to collect benefits. Thousands have come through the ID line and many more to get a warm meal. Though these men and women don't always have strong family ties, we come together as a Christian family to serve the needs of the needy.

Parenting
So many parents care very deeply for their children and want nothing more than to provide for them and make sure they are protected, loved and happy in life. But, in a world where our children are constantly bombarded with greed, selfishness, violence, sex and plenty of “not so super” super heroes this parenting task can feel very overwhelming.

Our staff would like to offer classes and resources that will train you in this very important role of leading your children. Please come and join others like yourself who want help and guidance in our parenting journey.
